Bloomberg Terminals, used by leading business and finance professionals worldwide for data, news, and analytics, are also here on ���ӽ紫ý’s campus for students to do research, and gain certifications and real-life skills to prepare them well for financial professions across the nation and the globe.

Terminals can be used to read financial news, perform market analyses, and access current and historical data. Bloomberg data is useful for students of financial economics as well as global commerce, data analytics, international studies, and other majors. Students can learn how to access specific information through tutorials.

Students and faculty from all disciplines can access the data and information available on the eight Bloomberg Terminals across campus. Four are located in Fellows Hall, and available 24/7 with a ���ӽ紫ý ID card. The remaining four are in the Doane Library Learning Commons and are accessible during library open hours. 

“Many of our economics classes incorporate assignments that require training in at least one of these four Bloomberg modules: Economic Indicators, Currencies, Fixed Income, and Equities,” says Fadhel Kaboub, associate professor of economics and president of the Binzagr Institute for Sustainable Prosperity. Students who complete all four modules gain a formal certification from Bloomberg, which is very helpful for finding internships and entry-level positions in the financial industry.

Students in a variety of majors and courses can access Bloomberg Terminals to conduct research and achieve certifications. With more than 8,000 data sets in equities, commodities, ESG and more, the terminals can provide current and historic data for student research in data analytics, global commerce, sustainability and environmental studies, and more.

• Equities: Global stock data, market indices, analyst estimates, and detailed company financials.
• Fixed Income: Real-time and historical data on over 5 million bonds, including government, corporate, and municipal debt.
• Commodities: Pricing, supply chain logistics, and trade data for energy, metals, and agriculture.
• Currencies: Global exchange rates and foreign exchange (FX) market metrics.
• Funds & ETFs: Net asset values (NAV), assets under management (AUM), and foundational reference data.
• Economics: Macroeconomic indicators, central bank policies, and country-level statistics.
• Alternative Data: Nontraditional datasets like web traffic, supply chain tracking, and consumer transactions to measure public company performance.
• ESG Data: Environmental, Social, and Governance metrics, carbon emissions, and diversity data.

���ӽ紫ý students can achieve Bloomberg certifications in four areas: Bloomberg Financial Fundamentals, Bloomberg Market Concepts, Bloomberg Environmental Social Governance, and Bloomberg Spreadsheet Analysis.
